focuspill
macos menu bar timer
One shortcut from any app. Type what you are working on, and a small pill counts it down on top of everything. Every session lands in a file on your Mac that Claude can read, so you can ask where your time actually went.
free and open source · macOS 14 or later · no account, no tracking, nothing leaves your Mac
the reason it exists
Time trackers give you a chart and leave you to interpret it. FocusPill ships a skill that teaches Claude to read your sessions and drive the timer, so you can just ask.
where did my week actually go?
Twenty six hours logged. Eleven of them on the checkout bug across four days, which you planned as one afternoon. Your mornings run 50 minutes clean; after 3pm nothing survives past 20. Nine sessions were cut short and seven of those were labelled "inbox".

Running. The pill is on screen.

pomodoro and time tracking
The shortcut opens one field. Typing the goal is the point: it is what you come back to when your attention drifts, and it is what ends up in your history. 5, 15, 25, 50, 90 minutes, or any number you type.
The pill floats over every window and every Space. Click it to pause, hover it for more time or to stop, drag it where you want. Stopping early still records the session, marked as stopped early.
themeable
A theme is a text file in a zip. Drop it in a folder and the app installs it: colours, type, the shape of the pill, sounds, and a pixel face that reacts to where you are in the session. Or describe what you want and let the skill write it.
The full theme reference, every token, every slot, and how to draw your own faces.
open source
No account, no telemetry, no network code at all. Your sessions are a JSON file in your own Library folder. Read the source, change it, fork it, ship it inside your own thing.
The build is not signed yet, so the first open needs a right click on the app and then Open. You only do that once.
who made it
We are a conversion rate optimisation agency. Our work is long uninterrupted blocks: teardowns, test builds, analysis. We wanted our own team protected from the drift that eats those blocks, and we wanted the record of it to be something our AI could actually reason about. So we built this, use it every day, and gave it away.
